Using A Portable Facial Steamer
Home facial treatments are becoming increasingly possible with new products available that allow us to get the treatment that we may have had to go to the spa to receive. Facial steaming is a great way to deeply cleanse the skin by flushing out the impurities in the pores and revitalising the face. There are a few different types of home facial steamers available that do a terrific job when used correctly with the portable facial steamer the smallest and most affordable option. Although they are similar in function, portable facial steamers work a little differently to a table top facial steamer.
The slightly larger mini facial steamer sits on the table top with a conical face mask attached over the top of the water reservoir. Once the water has been heated to boiling point and the steam is generated you place your face over the mask sealing it so that all of the steam is directed onto your face. This is a very efficient way of giving your face a deep cleanse using the facial steamer.
A portable facial steamer, on the other hand is an even smaller version of the home facial steamer in which the water is heated in much the same way as before. In this case, though the steamer is equipped with an applicator arm that sticks out and directs the steam in a much smaller and more intensive sphere.
The idea with the applicator arm is that you can apply steam directly to specific spots on the face rather than to the entire face at one time. This is a great way to work directly on troublesome areas.
The portable facial steamers are meant to be used with distilled water that is added to the reservoir as it is required. For longer treatments you will find that the reservoir will have to be refilled so it is a good idea to have sufficient supply of water at hand so the refilling process can be done quickly.
Before starting your treatment you should prepare your face first. This involves cleansing the face with a facial cleanser and then towelling the face dry. The reason you want to do this is to give your pores as much chance as possible of unclogging during the process. Removing the top layer of grime will allow the steam more deeply into the pores.
The drawback that you may find with using a portable facial steamer is that the process takes much longer if you want to give your entire face a treatment.
These are such small devices they are easy to store away and then quick to get out and set up again. They can be used as a vital part of the weekly beauty or skin care routine or even more regularly if required. By adding essential oils to the water reservoir the steamer can also be used as a relaxation inhaler if that is how you would like to use it.
You will also find that there will be portable facial steamers available with added features such as an ozone creation function or as an ionic steamer. These types of steamers provide greater moisturizing properties but you can still get enormous benefits with using a regular facial steamer.
